This article examines the pivotal role of the English language in the
advancement of information security in Uzbekistan. As global threats in cybersecurity
become increasingly complex and transnational, the ability to access up-to-date
technical knowledge, participate in international knowledge networks, and comply with
global standards has become essential. English serves as the primary language of
communication, documentation, and innovation in the information security domain.
Mastery of English not only provides Uzbek specialists with access to leading-edge
research, programming tools, and international cybersecurity frameworks but also
enhances opportunities for cross-border collaboration, professional certification, and
career mobility. The paper further explores how English proficiency contributes to
building a competitive workforce capable of responding to national and global
cybersecurity challenges. Recommendations are made for integrating English for
Specific Purposes (ESP) in information security curricula at universities and technical
colleges in Uzbekistan.
