THE INTERACTION BETWEEN WORD FORMATION AND MEANING CONSTRUCTION

This research provides a comprehensive and theoretically grounded investigation into the interaction between word formation processes and meaning construction. The study argues that morphological operations such as derivation, compounding, and conversion are intrinsically linked to semantic interpretation and cognitive structuring. By employing an integrative methodological framework, the paper demonstrates that meaning is not statically embedded within lexical units but is dynamically constructed through linguistic, cognitive, and socio-cultural mechanisms. The findings reveal that word formation acts as a primary driver of semantic expansion, lexical innovation, and conceptual restructuring in language systems .
