Abstract

Coronaviruses are enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA

viruses causing illnesses from common cold to severe respiratory syndromes like MERS,

SARS, and COVID-19. They are zoonotic and capable of crossing species barriers,

leading to global outbreaks like the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding their structure,

transmission, and control measures is essential.
