Abstract

The global transition to renewable energy is one of the most pressing

challenges of the 21st century. This transition requires highly skilled professionals

who can not only master technical knowledge but also collaborate across borders.

English has become the lingua franca in the renewable energy industry, allowing

professionals to share research, attend international conferences, and participate in

global initiatives. This paper explores the critical role that English proficiency plays

for renewable energy professionals, with a focus on Uzbekistan, where the sector is in

its early stages of development. Drawing on recent surveys and interviews, the study

highlights how English language skills can bridge knowledge gaps, foster innovation,

and enable effective international collaboration in the renewable energy sector. The

findings suggest that strengthening English proficiency among renewable energy

professionals can significantly enhance the country’s ability to meet its energy goals

and contribute to global sustainability efforts. This paper concludes with

recommendations for integrating English language training into renewable energy

education and professional development programs.
