Abstract

This article explores the crucial role of the English language in accessing

global economic research, data, and knowledge. In an increasingly interconnected

world, English has become the dominant language of economic literature, academic

publications, and international institutions. The paper highlights how a strong

command of English enables students, researchers, and professionals to engage with

original sources, understand economic terminology, and participate in global

academic and policy-making communities. Drawing on well-known books such as

Globalization and Its Discontents, Capital in the Twenty-First Century, and The

Wealth of Nations, the article emphasizes the importance of reading in English to

gain accurate insight into key economic theories and real-world applications.

Ultimately, the article argues that learning English is essential not only for academic

success but also for professional development and global collaboration in the field of

economics
