Abstract

The text provides a comparative analysis of the features of English and Uzbek proverbs, highlighting their similarities and differences shaped by distinct cultural, historical, and linguistic contexts. English proverbs emphasize brevity, metaphorical language, and themes of individualism, pragmatism, and personal success. In contrast, Uzbek proverbs focus on collectivism, social harmony, and moral values rooted in Islamic philosophy. Both traditions use nature and animal imagery, but their metaphors reflect the unique environments of their origins. The analysis underscores the cultural significance of proverbs in preserving wisdom and offering life lessons across societies.
