Abstract

This study examines the role of authentic legal materials (ALMs) in teaching English for Legal Purposes (ELP), focusing on their impact on vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and student engagement. Using qualitative interviews and classroom observations, the research identifies both the benefits and challenges of integrating ALMs into ESP instruction. Findings suggest that task-based learning (TBL) enhances the effectiveness of ALMs through interactive activities. However, issues such as text complexity and accessibility remain barriers. The study recommends scaffolding strategies and technology-enhanced approaches to improve ALM integration and calls for further research on long-term learning outcomes in Legal English instruction.
