Abstract

One of the most pressing issues in modern linguistics is how terminological systems are

shaped under the influence of globalization and how these external influences penetrate the structure

of national languages. Scientific and technological progress, the expansion of international academic

cooperation, the rapid development of information and communication technologies, and the

intensification of international collaboration across various fields have significantly increased

linguistic interactions between languages. As a result, languages are increasingly incorporating new

terms to express emerging concepts and phenomena, many of which are borrowed directly or adapted

from other languages. This article explores the nature of international influences on the formation of

terminological systems, their manifestation in the context of the Azerbaijani language, and their

impact on the national terminological environment. It also examines the mechanisms through which

borrowed terms are assimilated and adapted into the language, along with the challenges arising from

this process. Furthermore, the article proposes specific scientific and practical recommendations for

protecting and developing the national terminological system.
